AI Fringe 2025

AI for everyone
11–12 February 2025, London and Paris

The AI Fringe will return to mark the Paris AI Action Summit with a two day event at the British Library Knowledge Centre in London. We’ll also be in Paris with our partners to get involved with things on the ground, and share what’s happening back to the event in London.

We’ll bring together a diverse set of voices to delve into the themes and outcomes from the AI Action Summit and what they mean for policymakers, businesses and citizens. We’ll also check in on the issues that are most important to the AI ecosystem here in the UK and how these have evolved more than a year on from our first AI Fringe.

The Fringe will feature keynotes, firesides, panels and showcases with prominent voices in AI from civil society, academia, government and industry, as well as networking opportunities throughout.

Our goals

Bring together the views of industry, civil society and academia on safe and beneficial AI.
Provide a platform for all communities – including those historically underrepresented – to engage in the discussion.
Enhance understanding of AI and its impacts so organisations can harness its benefits.

The AI Fringe was established to complement the UK AI Safety Summit at Bletchley Park in 2023 by broadening the discussions for the benefit of the wider AI ecosystem.

Perspectives from the AI Fringe 2023

The AI Fringe brought together diverse views from across civil society, academia and industry – including those historically underrepresented – to engage in the discussion about AI safety and aimed to showcase the UK’s thriving ecosystem, as well as enhance understanding of AI and its impacts.

The views from the 2023 event were captured in the Perspectives paper as a means of contributing to and continuing the discussion about responsible AI development and deployment that happened at the Fringe.

The perspectives represented in this paper are drawn from a range of organisations across civil society, industry and academia, as well as from a group of citizens who comprised the People’s Panel on AI. There was never an expectation that these perspectives would align completely, but there are many areas of agreement and consensus to be found - which we've articulated here in the spirit of informing further conversations.
