Description

Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming the creative landscape. In this illuminating presentation, Linden Walcott-Burton, expert policy lead for AI in the creative industries at the GLA, will uncover AI's emerging impact on the creative sector.

 

You will learn:

  •  How generative AI works, and how it can generate new content – including text, audio and images
  • The impact of ChatGPT/chatbots on the creative industries
  • An analysis of both the opportunities and risks of AI for seven major sectors:
    - Music
    - Performing arts
    - Visual arts
    - Videogames
    - Film
    - Fashion
    - Museums
  • An overview of copyright issues

 

Walcott-Burton is now working with the sector to spread awareness of the current and future impacts of AI, to support the industry in maximising the benefits of the technology, while preparing for its challenges.

 

His speaking engagements throughout September and October have included:

  • Institute for Future Work - A roundtable on helping to shape governance for AI and the creative industries – United Kingdom
  • UK Research and Innovation's Responsible AI UK programme – A roundtable on generative AI and its effects on writing and publishing – United Kingdom
  •  The Association of Leading Visitor Attractions (ALVA) Council Meeting – Bletchley Park, United Kingdom
    - (ALVA is the leading association representing the UK’s leading visitor attractions, including museums, galleries, palaces, cathedrals, stately homes, parks, gardens, botanics, heritage sites and performance venues) 
  • European Network of Cultural Administration Training Centres (ENCATC) – Artificial Intelligence Embraced: the future of cultural and creative sector conference –  Helsinki, Finland           
  • World City Culture Forum (WCCF) – São Paulo, Brazil
    - (The WCCF is a network of more than 40 global cities spanning six continents. This forum is the biggest global network of senior cultural leaders)
